In the process of choosing and contracting suppliers, Cyrela makes a careful selection that considers aspects such as product or service quality, supply capacity, service, respect to the delivery’s deadline, and social and environmental responsibility. All these criteria are monthly assessed. An internal committee decides whether the relationship will be continued or not. Whenever there is an invitation to bid, the selection process is computer-based, which provides more transparent and equal conditions to participants.
The Company is always looking for new domestic and international suppliers, preferring quality over price. The supplier material is tested by the Department of Quality before being used. The approval also depends on some environmental criteria, such as the waste generated or issued.
For 2011 the Company will change the supplier selection criteria. They will be based on stricter requirements as related to social and environmental aspects. A specialized company has already been contracted to help in the development of a new evaluation approach.
